Research, development and innovation

In Ngaro we consider the R&D+i as the key to making a difference in our products. Long years of research and development in the field of infrared vision allowed us to develop the best applications in the industry. Our nonconformism and our commitment to be at the forefront of infrared technology have led us to innovate and create new applications or to improve the existing ones to differentiate ourselves from the competitors and to offer the best solutions to our customers.

Here you can see a selection of the R&D+i projects in which we have participated. A list that, hopefully, will not stop growing.

RASPIR

Design, implementation and testing of a fast deployable security perimeter based on detection by infrared video and with communication capability among the local and remote perimeter elements to a command center, allowing monitoring, alarm receiving and sending commands control. Development of an integrated system for communication to help manage security crisis in Europe.

Financing

  • Project supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, under the National Plan for Scientific Research, Development and Technological Innovation 2008-2011
  • Subprogram: Innpacto 2012
  • Duration: 2012-2015

RASPIR NGARO

Integration of the detection system and IR video capture hardware on a single computer which means a second generation of infrared cameras.

Users

Security forces and emergency response teams. Some examples of application scenarios include: surveillance in high risk areas, tactical surveillance in special operations protection and security of official events casual surveillance of military bases in foreign operations, etc..

RASPIR, Systems integration

The project aims to design a perimeter formed by homogeneous elements, seeking the integratation, into a single product, of all systems required in order to obtain a completely autonomous element, which allows fast and automatic deployment of the security perimeter. The perimeter elements are called Perimeter Detection Units (PDU).

The PDUs that form the perimeter shall be equipped with infrared camera-based detection software, software based in artificial vision that permits the trigger of configured alarms, communication system, mechanization for camera positioning and communications antennas and software control. The communications system shall allow PDUs communicate with each other, forming a local network that will allow access to all PDU network from being accessed through the console port.

Project RASPIR

Heterogeneous security network for european population

Development of an integrated system to establish communications to help manage security crisis in Europe.

Financing

  • Project supported by the ERDF Regional Development Fund and the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade (MITT) within the National Plan for Scientific Research, Development and Innovation 2008-2011
  • Subprogram: Avanza I+D
  • Stamp EUREKA-CELTIC (CP5-010)
  • Duration: 2008-2011

HNPS NGARO

Rapid deployment smart tool that provides information on the human and vehicular traffic in wide-area environments that require the application of exceptional security measures.

Users

Forces of State Security, Civil Protection Units and Fire Departments.

Detection specifications

Actuation support system for making high-level decisions for the protection of critical infrastructures. Intrusion detection, abnormal behavior and abandoned objects.

HNPS, Technologies integration

System consists of smart detection nodes, autonomous, portable, network configurable, interconnected and easily deployed in the field that cover the area to protect in real-time, and over digital mapping, control centers and predefined mobile devices, enabling their remote monitoring over the Internet.

Each node comprises four main modules: data sources (sensors), intelligent detection unit, communication module, and power system, and provides information on events predetermined by the operator in three main areas: security perimeter boundaries, areas surrounding and the inner area.

Project HNPS

INTEGRA

Development of an intelligent surveillance system for traffic of vessels in port areas included within the research program CENIT I+D+i "Technologies for migration management."

Financing

Multiannual financing within the support program "National Strategic Consortia for Technical Research" CENIT 2008-2012

  • CENIT Research Program R&D+i "Technologies for Migration Management"
  • Duration: 2008-2012

INTEGRA NGARO

Intelligent system that provides information about vessels in port marine environments (estuaries, river mouths, anchorage areas off-shore ...) in initial coverage within three nautical miles.

Users

Port Authorities, Control Units responsible of immigration and customs supervision.

Specifications

Detection, identification, digital positioning mapping and monitoring of vessels in real time.

INTEGRA, Termography

System consisting of a network of smart detecting nodes, located on the coast and connected to a control center, that automatically perform the detection, identification, digital positioning mapping and monitoring of vessels in real time.

The tool operates with high resolution thermal cameras on which continuously performs a calibration, depending on the weather conditions in order to optimize the radiometric information obtained and its use for the identification of targets on the seabed.

With the use of radiometric encoders is possible to transport the signal with the greatest amount of information, using the lowest possible bandwidth, allowing, in this way, their integration into existing monitoring networks. The system operates continuously, and is capable of discriminating targets for thermal signature and paths, and implements complex algorithms for target tracking based on predictive techniques.
